Anyone Suggest Some Cajun Music?

Posted by admin

I’d really like some authentic cajun to listen to. Folk music is cool but if there’s some acoustic, punk or especially rock cajun artists that anyone knows of that would be AMAZING. And if it’s in French that would be so hot.

Has anyone visited or does anyone live in Houma, LA? Would you recommend it as a tourist stop?

Posted by admin

My final destination ist New Orleans. But, I’m really interested in the Cajun culture. Would Houma be a good place to experience authentic Cajun Life?

I’ve never been to Houma, Louisiana. New Orleans is as far south as we have travelled. Looks like plenty of wetlands there on the Gulf.

Tourism guide featuring information on accommodations, local activities, dining, Cajun Culture, and outdoor adventures.
I could not access this site, the server was down.
You may have better luck.
I does sound like you’ll experience the Cajun culture in Houma.

Hope you find what you’re looking for.

How has Asian culture impacted Cajun Culture ?

Posted by admin

I’m doing a school project and I want to know if the Asian people helped shape the cajun people. You have to show me your sources
( they need to be reliable ) and show me your proof.

Asian people did not help shape the Cajun people. Cajuns were formerly from Nova Scotia. They emigrated to Louisiana where they were influenced by Creoles. French&Creole = Cajun.

beautiful cajun music in the 1981 film southern comfort.

Posted by admin

This is a beautiful version of the song “PARLEZ NOIS A BOIRES” by Dewey Balfa.Enjoy!Warning!!!The sequence contains images of violence against animals which may offend or shock some people. Also the particular sequence is taking place in a crucial part of the film so if you havent seen it yet,i advise you to skip and enjoy all of its 106 minutes. The means of this video is to pay tribute to the Balfa brothers and the Cajun Music culture in general and last but not least to keep up the memory of some excellent movies which did nt make it to the big audience.Thank you for your posts.

What to do this weekend with a two year old? Conroe Cajun Catfish or Turkish fest?

Posted by admin

I’m thinking of the Conroe Cajun Catfish festival, or maybe the Turkish festival. Has anyone been to either? Or anything else? (We’re doing RenFest when later in Nov.)

There is the Bayou City Art Festival this weekend at memorial park. Kids under twelve get in free. Break out the stroller and enjoy the nice weather.
