I am a “non-traditional” quilter and I find this blog post very interesting. Since when did quilting become a craft that has to be done “inside the box” and so stuffy? Why the hostility as well? Geesh…
There is room for both traditional and non-traditional quilters in the quilting world but I find it so funny how old traditional quilters have to some how defend their turf.
Try being more artistic and fun with your quilts instead of having to obey the RULES set forth by jaded and old school quilters…

I oppose the idea because many people love going to the beach and by drilling beaches will be destroyed. This will cause pollution so by trying to fix this problem they are making a new one. Also a lot of marine life could be killed and it could be a repeat of the Aral Sea. Fishing industries would be destroyed and many jobs will be lost though we are already in an economic crisis. Overall too many things will be destroyed causing new problems therefore I strongly oppose the idea.

Till today, we have yet to mold our diversified culture into a Malaysian culture. We even have Minister Ng Yen Yen one time declaring Hainanese Chicken Rice as Malaysia. What a joke.
Those chaps in Ministry of Culture are too focused on one culture, ie Malay culture. What we have is a ROJAK CULTURE on display when Malaysian culture is performed on stage. It is like getting dance troops from China, India, Sumatra and Borneo to represent Malaysian culture. Embarrassing.
Actually, no, it wouldn't. Jews were required by their Talmud to make pilgrimages every year to Jerusalem to worship at the temple. When the temple was destroyed, it sorta destroyed the fullness of their faith. Now all they have is study of their scripture.
There is no such requirement to go to the Vatican for Catholics. It suffices to go to our local Church where Jesus is really present every Sunday. We worship with Jesus in spirit with the Pope every time we go to mass.
